Mansfield , Il. is a village in Piatt County, Illinois. According to the US Census Bureaue estimate of July 1, 2009 the population was recorded as 949 people, 396 households, and 293 families residing in the village.
Geographically Mansfield is located at 40°12′46″N 88°30′27″W According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.4 km²), of which, 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (5.56%) is water. It is situated on State Highway 150 approximately 20 miles East-North-East of the City of Champaign. It is just to the south of Interstate 74. It boasts a Public Library and a U.S. Post Office. The village is surrounded by considerable arable farming, although Mansfield Grain surrendered its Grain Dealer and Grain Warehouse licences in November 2010 due to financial difficulties leaving many farmers without payment.
