Mansfield, Michigan

Mansfield Michigan is a small township on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, close to the Wisconsin border in Iron County. Here's what our contact there said about it:

"Mansfield started as a mining community in the late 1800's named for the mining company. Celebrated our centennial in 1991 and have collected much historical information. Current population is 250 people but we cover a land area of 108 square miles. Tourism, logging and potato farming drives our local economy. Our local historical society - Mansfield Memories - was formed in 1973 and continues to be active. We have rebuilt the Mansfield Pioneer Church which was our only church."
