Steve Steinhilber from Mansfield, Georgia emailed us: "I have lived in Mansfield, Georgia for almost five years now. We are located roughly 1 hour southeast of Atlanta. I do not have an exact popluation figure, however our town measure exactly 1 mile square. Mansfield used to be a thriving small town due to the cotton industry, however now the only industry is a company called Beaver Manufacturing."
Buddy Powers of Mansfield, Georgia has emailed us with information relating to the naming of Mansfield Georgia. Buddy's email reads; "egend has it that Mansfield Georgia was named in the 1870's at a meeting of the local men. The meeting was called for the purpose of naming the community. The meeting had many disagreements and few decisions. A good amount of "moonshine" (corn liquor) was consumed. A decision was finally made to name the town after whichever man attending was found to be the most sober. The man's name was Mansfield (likely a man from Mansfield UK). He shortly moved away, so now there are no people by that name in the town."
