Travelling to Mansfield, UK in May 2012

Given a choice, host families would prefer to pick you up from these UK airports. They are listed in order of closeness to Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

1. East Midlands - approx. 40 minutes to Mansfield BUT probably only works if you are in Europe.
2. Birmingham - approx. 70 minutes to Mansfield
3. Manchester - approx. 2 hours to Mansfield
4. Heathrow- approx -  3 hours to Mansfield
5. Gatwick- approx. 3 hours & 30 minutes to Mansfield

Note: Subject to airport and arrival times it may be that we arrange a coach to collect a large group and bring them to Mansfield.

If you are going to be in the UK on a pre-Mansfield trip, as I know some are intending to do, then coming to Mansfield by train is easy. Either London Kings Cross to Newark (and then hosts collect from Newark, 30 minutes away) or London St. Pancras to Nottingham and then onto Mansfield.

Travelling to Mansfield by car is very straightforward. Assuming you might be coming from London, use either the A1 to Newark and then across to Mansfield or the M1 to Junction 27 and follow the signs to Mansfield which is approx. 20 minutes from the M1. Either route will take between 2.5 and 3 hours.
